Thanksgiving 2011

I have read a lot of Thanksgiving posts from other blogs that have been so nice, with everybody saying what they are thankful for, so I thought I better get in gear and do one myself. I am so very thankful for my husband and kids. I really don't know how I got so lucky. I am thankful for my family and friends and for everything they do for me. I am thankful that both me and my husband have jobs that we love and that support our family. Most of all I am thankful that me and my family are happy and healthy.

This year for Thanksgiving we had lunch with Ryan's dad and family and then headed to SLC to have dinner with my mom and family. Both meals were amazing. Here are some highlights: At Ryan's dad's I ended up spilling pumpkin pie all over me and the floor, it was pretty funny. At my mom's house I taught all the kids a new game, which I ended up winning (it wasn't rigged I promise). Ryan went home Thanksgiving night, but I stayed and had a great time shopping and hanging with the family. Thanks everyone for a great holiday.

Calli's 6 month Update

Seriously where does the time go! I can't believe Calli is already 6 months old. She is rolling from her back to her stomach with ease now, she can sit up all on her own, she wants to grab everything, especially the tv remote, and put it in her mouth, and she has also started eating rice cereal. At her 6 month check up she wieghed in at 16.9 lbs putting her in the 65 percentile. Her length was 27.5 inches putting her in the 95 percentile (Yes she is very long). Trey really loves his little sister and he is a great big brother. When it was finally time for Calli to be able to eat rice cereal he wanted to be the one to feed her for the first time, and he did a great job.

Our Halloween Fun

We started our Halloween festivities by taking a trip to SLC to spend time with family. Our first stop was my sister's house to carve pumpkins.

The next day we hit our next stop, which was Gardner Village to see "The Witches". This is something my family does every year and it is always fun. Trey got a skeletopn tattoo, Mater teeth sucker, and a new motorcycle toy. Calli got a new hair band, and I got my favorite, a fresh caramel apple from the candy store yummy!

On Halloween Day I went to work dressed as a Cow Girl and my temporary office mate/sister in-law Brittney came dressed as an Indian. We didn't even plan it but our costumes went perfectly together.

Last but not least on Halloween night we hit the neighborhood trunk or treat party. I have to let everyone know that I am against trunk or treating, I like the old fashioned door to door treak or treating, but nobody in my neighborhood does that so I was FORCED to have to do trunk or treating. Fortunately we met up with our good friends Cort and Robin and their cute family, so we did have a good time, and Trey had fun which in the end is all the matters!

Calli's 4 & 5 month Update

Calli is now 5 months old and growing fast. At her 4 month check up she weighed 13 pounds and 14 ounces. At 5 months we put her on our scale at home and she was already up to 16 pounds. This means she now weighs half of what Trey weighs. If she keeps growing like she is, Trey may have a sister that is bigger than he is. Calli is also getting really strong. She is getting good at holding herself up and can even sit up, but only for a few seconds. Her hair has started to come in and it reminds me of peach fuzz, it's really cute. She has rolled over from her tummy to her back a few times but hasn't quite mastered back to tummy yet. She loves her big brother a lot and most of the time he is the only one that can make her laugh. We all just love her so much and have really enjoyed these last 5 months.

TOU Half Marathon 3rd Year

On Saturday August 27th I ran in my 3rd annual TOU Half Marathon. I finished in 2:06:51 hours. The first year I ran I also ran it in 2 hours and 6 minutes. Last year I decided to run it at the last minute and didn't train for it quite as well, and ran it in 2 hours and 10 minutes, so even though I was only 4 months post pregnancy I was able to improve back to my first years time. Next year my goal is to be at or under 2 hours.

Trey's Birthday Extravaganza

Trey turned 5 this year and in his own words he his "Big" now. Since it was such a "Big" milestone we took him to Chuckie Cheese. It had been so long since Ryan and I had been to Chuckie Cheese and I have to say it was a blast, fun was had by all, and the food was even good too. The next day we had a BBQ at my mom's house to celebrate ALL birthday's from January-August, and then the next day after that we celebrated again with Ryan's dad's side of the family, so Trey really had a HUGE birthday weekend. A big thanks to everyone who made it to Chuckie Cheese for Trey's party, and a thanks to all for such wonderful gifts. He was very spoiled as usual. Happy Birthday little "Big" man!

2011 Summer Camping Trips

We were able to take 3 camping trips to Bear Lake this summer on the 4th of July, 24th of July, and for Raspberries days. Ryan's dad bought a boat, so we played in the lake a lot this year. Trey loved going on the boat just as long as someone held on to him really tight. He even mustered up enough courage to get on the tube with Ryan and his aunt "CoCo". During the weekend of Raspberry Days Ryan, his dad, and his brother played in their annual golf tournament, and this year they won their division. They were able to get a bunch of cool stuff from the Bear Lake West Pro Shop, nice work boys. I was a little worried about having to take a brand new baby camping but Calli was such a good baby and seemed to enjoy all the festivities, and I think she even slept better than I did. A big thanks to the whole Cooper/Lindley clan for such a good time this summer.

We blessed our beautiful baby girl Calli on Saturday July 9th of this year. She was blessed by her Grandpa (David McBride). We did things a bit different, instead of blessing her at a church we did it up in the mountains overlooking the whole valley. It was a really beautiful and special day and we had a great time with family and friends. Towards the end it did start pouring rain, and I mean pouring. The one good thing about all the rain is it definitely made it a blessing to remember. Thanks to everyone who made it out to celebrate our Calli's special day.

Today we have officially had Calli for 3 months!! Time has flown this summer and I unfortunately have to go back to work soon, but I really have enjoyed spending the summer with my kiddos! At Calli's 2 month check up she weighed 11.69 pounds and measured at 24.5 inches. The average weight for her age is 11 pounds and the average height is 22.5 inches, so she is doing well. Right now Calli smiles all the time, she is very strong and holds her head up by herself, and she has even started to laugh which is priceless! I also have to mention what a good baby she is, she hardly ever cries and she has been sleeping through the night for some time now (knock on wood). Calli has been such an added joy to our family and we just love her so much.

Trey's Second Year of T-Ball

In June Trey played his second year of T-Ball, and he did an amazing job. Last year, since it was his first year, he was a little shy and apprehensive about playing. This year he wasn't shy at all. He went after the ball every time, hit the ball hard every time, and ran the bases all by himself. Great job Trey we are so proud of you.

Our First Month With Calli

I can't believe that we have had Calli in our lives for a full month now. She is already getting so big and changing every day. She is a lot different then Trey, she actually has some meat on her bones. At her 2 week Dr's appointment she had already gained a pound weighing in at 8 pounds and 9 ounces and is in the 61 percentile for her weight. Trey was always in the 0 percentile for his weight so they are definitely different. Trey absolutely loves his baby sister, sometimes a little too much. I constantly have to keep telling him to stop kissing her and to please get out of her face. I'm just glad that he is not having a hard time sharing our attention. We also had some other good things happen this month, first Ryan won the "Custodian of the Year" award. He was honored at the school board meeting and Trey, Calli, and I got to go, it was very nice. Second Trey got a new "gas powered" Four wheeler. At first I was very worried about it since he is still only 4 years old, but he loves it and rides it really well, so I had to relent. After waiting many months, Calli finally joined our family on May 3rd at 7:13 P.M. She was 7 pounds & 10 ounces, and 20 inches long. Everything went great and both mom and baby are doing well. More pictures to come!

Easter 2011

We had a great Easter! It started Friday at my work where we had the annual IA Easter Egg hunt. Trey got a Spiderman Ball and loads of candy. Saturday we colored Easter eggs. FYI don't wait until Saturday night to buy an egg coloring kit because no one will have any left! Thank goodness Terri had some food coloring (Thanks Terri). Sunday we woke up to find that the Easter Bunny had brought all of us our own Easter basket. Trey got a Red Power Ranger (his new favorite), the movie "Tangled", a couple outfits, a new hat, and more candy. The Easter Bunny filled all of Trey's empty eggs with candy and hid the eggs all over the living room, but Trey was able to find them all with no problems. Lastly we went to Paul and Terri's for a fabulous Easter dinner and fun games. It was good to see the whole Lindley side of the family!

The day we had all been waiting for finally happened. My brother in-law Bryce and my new sister in-law Brittney tied the knot on February 9th 2011. Trey was one of the ring bearers and though he looked at the floor the whole time and didn't smile very much, I was very proud of him and thought he did an awesome job. The wedding turned out amazing, the groom looked very handsome, and of course the bride was BEAUTIFUL!! Congratulations you guys and welcome to the family Brittney!

Our End to 2010

I thought I better get going and post about our Christmas and New Years. Each year we have 4 parties we go too, to celebrate Christmas with our extended family. This year we started off with the McBride family Christmas party. At this party as well as the usual present games we play, we each got to make our own sleigh out of candy and race them down a race track that Ryan's aunt Debbie made (she is very clever). Trey's sleigh did really well but it was Great Grandpa McBride's sleigh that won it in the end! Next we headed to SLC for the Colemere family Christmas party. This year instead of gifts we decided to do crafts and I thought it was a blast. Trey made a foam Christmas tree ornament with his name on it, Trey and I both got to make a ceramic snowman, and all the girls got to make flower clips for our hair. I didn't know I was having a girl at the time but I decided to make the baby a flower for her hair just in case. Whew glad I did! Our next party was on Christmas Eve with Ryan's Dad (Paul) & Terri's side of the family. Terri & Grandma "Great", as she likes to be called, made one of my favorite dinners (Turkey & Potatoes) and it was really yummy! Our last party we had with the extended family was the Murray family Christmas party the day after Christmas. I was extremely sick and was unable to go, but Ryan and Trey said they had a really great time!

For Christmas the last few years I have tried to start a tradition that our family gets matching PJ's to open on Christmas eve. This year we all got Bronco PJ's. Grandma Marilee and Grandpa David also gave us a special present to open on Christmas Eve, it was the cutest book of "The Night Before Christmas", so once we all had on our new jammies, had set out milk and cookies for Santa, we all laid down and read our new book before bed. We woke up in the morning to find that Santa had indeed visited our house. Santa brought Trey a Spiderman bike and helmet, a "big" Woody doll, a "big" Spiderman doll, Spiderman clothes, Spiderman slippers & jammies, Spiderman socks & underwear, spiderman hat & gloves & sunglasses. Are you sensing a theme yet? He also got some books, Toy Story 3, Shrek 4, & some new shoes!! Santa must have thought he was a really good boy this year! After we opened all of our gifts our day's adventure began. We started by heading over to Ryan's dad's and had some breakfast. Next we hurried and got ready and headed to Ryan's mom's in Centerville to have brunch and open more presents. Next we continued to head south and hit my Dad's house, and last but not least we ended at my Mom's house for dinner! We do this every year and though it makes for a REALLY long day we always enjoy being able to see all of our family on Christmas.

Unfortunately for me I got really sick Christmas night and ended up being sick all the way through until after New Years, so our New Years Eve was pretty uneventful. I was able to pull myself out of bed enough to go out to dinner but we had to come right home after that,and we ended up just staying home and watching a movie. I tried to stay up until midnight but it just didn't happen. I did hear the fireworks go off at midnight but just went right back to sleep. Hopefully next year I wont ruin the Holiday. I was terrible at taking pictures this Holiday season. I will blame it on being sick, but here are a few.

As you can see Trey decided he wanted to be Spiderman this year for Halloween. My good friend Mandy was nice enough to give us this fabulous costume thanks Mandy! He loves it so much that he has been wearing it every day for several weeks and we have watched Spiderman the movie so many times I have it memorized. Last year when we went trick or treating Trey was very shy and we ended up having to carry him to every house. This year he walked up to each house and semi yelled "Trick or Treat" all on his own. We were very proud!

Carving Pumpkins

Ryan went to a snowmobile expo tonight for a boys night out, so Trey and I decided we would have our own fun. First we went to Trey's favorite store "Walmart" where we bought pumpkins and a new Iron Man mask for Trey (He bought it with his own money he has been saving). Then we came home and the carving began. I cannot even remember the last time I carved a pumpkin so I was afraid it was going to be a disaster, but Trey was a fantastic helper and the finished product turned out quite nice. After all the carving we decided we were tired and decided to settle down & finish out the night by watching Iron Man 2. Trey put on his mask and pretended to be Iron Man while he watched the movie it was very entertaining.

Gardner Village Witches 2010

The girls in my family take the kids on an annual trip to Gardner Village every October to see the witches. This year we decided to go earlier in the month to try and beat the crowd and I must say we did well. It didn't really start to get busy until we were ready to leave, yay! Our first stop was the toy store where my mom and grandma bought all the kids a toy. Trey picked out a toy gun (because he doesn't already have enough guns let me tell ya). Next stop was face painting. Trey got a spider so he could be just like "spider man!" The spider ended up being a big hit because all the other kids, except Rebecca, decided they wanted a spider too! After the face painting it was finally time to start hitting some of the grown up stores such as "Sweet Afton's" for a freshly made carmel apple, yummy, and "Just Us Girls" for some really cute Halloween bracelets. After Gardner Village we picked up some lunch and headed to my Mom's house for more fun and games. We had so much fun and ended up playing games until 11:00 at night, it was actually Trey telling me it was time for bed instead of the other way around! Thanks everyone for such a great weekend!

Labor Day Weekend

We had yet another fun filled Labor Day (Wellsville Founders Day) weekend this year. It started Saturday morning with Ryan and his dad playing in the Founders Day golf tournament. Then Saturday night we all went to the Founders Day Rodeo yeehaw. Sunday we headed to the good ole SLC for my new nephew, Raylor's, baby blessing. There's nothing better than good food, good friends, and good family! Monday I woke up bright and early and ran in my 3rd annual Founders Day 10K race, had breakfast on the square, then rushed home to bathe and change for the Founders Day parade. Trey really enjoyed the parade this year and was able to score a sack full of candy. After the parade we walked around the square for awhile checked out some booths then I went home and took a nap and was lazy the rest of the day it was divine! I didn't bring my nice camera to any of these events so I only had my small broken camera and didn't get very good pictures. Here are a couple anyway.

TOU Half Marathon

I ran the TOU half marthon this last weekend making it the 2nd year in a row now. I really love this race! Unfortunately I wasn't able to train as well as I did last year and as a result I was 4 minutes slower this time around. I was able to finish in 2 hours 10 minutes and 1 second. My running buddy Robin is expecting a new baby so she was unable to run with me. Luckily I have just recently met a new running buddy, Brenda, and she ran with me this year. Thanks Brenda!

Celebrating 80 Years

My Grandma turned 80 years old this last weekend! She is such an amazing person and has been such a good example to me my entire life. I love you Grandma and I hope you had a great birthday. We were able to get most of the family together this last weekend to celebrate here are some of the highlights.

24th of July and Raspberry Days

I have to back track a little because I haven't had a chance to post about the 24th of July or Raspberry days. We spent the 24th of July at Ryan's mom's house in Centerville. We went golfing, had dinner at Iggy's, had the best frozen yogurt ever, then had a small fireworks show. At first Trey was scared of the fireworks for some reason, but he slowly snapped out of it and had fun with some snap pops and sparklers. The best part was we got to spend some quality time with Ryan's little bro Shaun who has now left on his mission.

The first weekend in August we always head to Bear Lake to camp for Raspberry days. This year was fun as usual. Ryan his dad and his brothers all played in the annual Raspberry days golf tournament while us girls went to town to shop the Raspberry days booths. Trey was very spoiled and ended up getting a "Cars" blanket from Grandpa, a Cowboy hat from Terri, and a toy motorcycle and 2 airbrush tatoos from me (Tatoos?? yeah I know I am a good mom!). Of course it wouldn't be a trip to Bear Lake if there wasn't a lot a swimming in the lake, so you know we did that as well.

Birthday Fun

For Trey's birthday I took the day off and we met Ryan, his mom, & his grandpa for lunch at the Sizzler. Trey wanted steak his favorite. Then we went to the store and let Trey pick out his balloons and cake. He ended up picking out a Nemo balloon and Spiderman cupcakes. Later that night we had Ryan's dad's side of the family over for pizza and cupcakes. Trey had waited all day long to open his presents so as soon as they got there that was the first thing we had to do. Trey had so much fun that when he woke up the next day he wanted it to be his birthday all over again! Thanks everyone who came for making Trey's birthday so special!

Ryan and I took Trey to Hogle Zoo this year. Last time we took him he was only 1 years old so he wasn't able to really appreciate it. This year was a little better he enjoyed the animals but had no desire to sit and stare at any one animal for too long. We would show him an animal and he would say "OOHH!, ok lets go see a different animal!" I think the Giraffe's were our favorite this year. One giraffe outside kept sticking out his tongue trying to reach this kids hand and Trey thought that was pretty cool. Ryan's Mom was nice enough to come with us and be our family photographer thanks Marilee.

A Weekend With Friends

My good friend Julie and her family were able to come to Cache Valley this summer and spend a weekend. They stayed with my other good friend Mandy and we ended up partying hard at her house that weekend. We started off with a fantastic BBQ with some yummy food, then we all went fishing. Ryan and I are not fishermen but Trey was excited to go with the rest of the kids so we went. You can't go fishing without a fishing pole so we had to stop off at Walmart and buy Trey his very own "Toy Story" fishing pole. He was so excited. After fishing we headed over to get some Cold Stone ice cream, and then ended the night back at Mandy's playing cards. The next day Ryan and Josh (Julie's man) went golfing and us girls took the kids to play at the new splash pad in Providence. Before they had to head back to the good ole SLC we all met back up and had dinner at the Copper Mill. It was a weekend of great friends, great food, & great fun. Love you girls thanks for the fantastic weekend!

4th Of July Weekend 2010

This year for the 4th of July weekend we went camping at Blue Water Resorts in Bear Lake. It was still just a little too cold to play in the lake, so it's a good thing there is a pool where we camp. We did some swimming, a little bit of napping, a lot of sitting around the camp fire, and Ryan, Trey, & Paul were able to go golfing. We also got to enjoy a nice fireworks show which is done right out on the beach. Of course we always eat really well when we go to Bear Lake. The first night we ate at my favorite restaurant in town, Cafe Sabor. It is mexican food which is my favorite and while they don't have smothered burritos with cheese their food is still pretty dang tasty. The second night Bryce and Britt made a Pork chops & chicken dutch oven dinner for everyone and it was sooooo good. Thanks guys! Sunday we woke up and headed home so we could spend the rest of the 4th with Ryan's mom side at a Murray family BBQ. This was the first family party where Trey actually played with his cousins and could have cared less where his mom and dad was. It made me both happy and a little sad, he is sure growing up fast. Sunday night we were settling down thinking about going to be when we remembered that we still had some fireworks from 2 years ago that we had completly forgotten about, so we went outside and had a very small fireworks show of our own. Lastly Trey and I finished out the long weekend by swimming in our new pool we got this year. FYI Swimming to Trey and I means lounging on our floatie.

Funny story about this picture. When Trey has to go pee he has no discretion. Wherever he is the moment the urge hits he pulls down his pants and then precedes to head to the toilet (he does this even at home). I have tried to teach him to wait until he gets to the toilet and then pull down his pants but apparently he likes to walk like a penguin!

Blue Water does not have fire pits, and you can bring your own but it is a rule that they have to be 18 inches off the ground. This is how we ghetto rigged our fire pit so we could have a fire! Hee Hee I love it!

Trey had a great time camping but he was especially goofy when we were all sitting around the fire.

Wasatch Your Back!

A couple of weekends ago I ran in my very first Ragnar relay race called the "Wasatch Back". For those of you who are not familiar with Ragnar this is how it works. You have a team of 12 runners. Each runner runs 3 different legs. We started in Logan and ended in Park City for a total of 188 miles. My first leg was 6.9 miles from the top of Avon down into Ogden. It was a mostly down hill run on a dirt road. The down hill part was awesome however the road was horrible, since it was a dirt road there were so many holes and rocks. It was very hard on my legs and I really felt it the next morning. My second leg was 8.1 miles up a canyon somewhere around Morgan, Utah I think. I started my run at midnight so I am not going to lie I had no clue where I was. This run was seriously UP HILL and it about killed me. It was the hardest run I have ever done, but it was also the most rewarding. My goal was just to run the whole time and never stop and walk and I was able to meet that goal. Yay me! My last run was a flat 3.1 miles in Heber, Utah. Now 3.1 miles is considerably better than 6.9 and 8.1 however after already running my first 2 legs and only getting about 3 hours of sleep it was still pretty hard. I ended up running a total of 18.1 miles. The best part of doing Ragnar was meeting and making new friends. At the start of the race I only knew 1 person on my team, but by the end I had become great friends with everyone in my van. Doing Ragnar is hard work but it was so much fun I hope to do it with my team again next year. Love you girls!!

Phoenix Arizona 2010

Ryan and I took a trip to Phoenix this summer to celebrate my graduation from USU. The Arizona Diamond Backs were playing the Yankees so it ended up being more a present for Ryan (Ryan has been a Yankees fan ever since he was a kid)! We went to the baseball game both Tuesday and Wednesday night and I have to admit I had a great time. Chase stadium is super nice. It is enclosed and air conditioned due to the heat, and it has so many places to eat and shop. The Yankees won both Tuesday and Wednesday so that was good too. Wednesday, during the day, we went out to lunch and to do a litte shopping. First we went to the Cheesecake Factory and ended up seeing Jeff Hornacek former Jazz player, then we went shopping and ended up seeing Alex Rodriguez, 3rd baseman for the Yankees (and Hotty McHotty). Thursday we met Ryan's cousin, who lives in Arizona, for lunch, then just relaxed at the hotel the rest of the evening. Thanks Ryan for a very fun trip!

Trey's 1st Year of T-Ball

Trey was old enough this year to start playing T-Ball. For most every Tuesday & Thursday this month that is what we have been doing. He had his last game yesterday. I can't believe how fast it went! I am so proud of how much he improved from his first game to his last. His first couple of games he would hit the ball but he would only walk the bases and we had to walk with him. In the outfield he was too shy and wasn't aggressive enough to go after the ball, which made him mad because he REALLY wanted to get the ball. I was out in the field with him one time when the ball came really close, he started to go for it then all the other kids came running so be backed off, he was so mad that he didn't get the ball that he took off his mitt threw it down on the ground and preceded to throw a tantrum right there in the outfield. It was only slightly embarrassing! In his last 3 games he was an entirely different kid. He hit the ball and ran the bases hard, he went in the outfield and pretty much went after every ball sometimes even diving for it so the other kids couldn't get it. He was so excited to play in the outfield that when he was done hitting he came and grabbed his mitt and went out in the field with the other team instead of waiting for his whole team to finish batting it was too funny! He did all of this without Ryan and I being out there with him, we finally just got to watch from the sidelines. We all had a lot of fun and Trey was able to get his very first trophy. I asked Trey if he wanted to play again next year and he gave me an enthusiastic "Yes". Here are the highlights of the season.

1st Camping Trip of 2010

This last weekend we finally had good enough weather to take the trailer up "Left Hand" and have our first camping trip of the season with a few of our friends. We only stayed one night so it was short but sweet. I didn't take too many pictures because I was busy having fun but here are a few.

Ryan taught Trey how to shoot the pellet gun and Trey couldn't get enough of it. They had a target they were shooting at and everytime Trey would shoot he would have to run up to the target and check out where he hit it.

Later in the evening Robin, Cort, and Cambree joined us and Trey and Cambree had a blast playing in Bryce & Britt's tent. FYI if you have kids and need some downtime just set up a tent it entertains for hours.

Memorial Day Weekend 2010

Our Memorial day weekend was pretty low key this year and it was really nice. Saturday night we had a fire in our backyard and roasted up some smores. Sunday we worked all day in our yard and I finally got some flowers planted. Monday we went to our friends Scott & Mandy's for a BBQ (Thanks you guys the food was fantastic). All of our spare time in between went to practicing baseball with Trey, he has his first T-ball game tonight if the weather cooperates yay!

Kennedy's First Birthday

The Treadmill won!! I was running on the treadmill yesterday while Trey was playing with his toys. He asked me to come see something he was playing with so I jumped off the treadmill to take a quick look. I turned to go get back on the treadmill and Trey followed thinking I had turned it off. He went down hard and though it was only a few seconds before I grabbed him and got him off, it felt like it took forever and it was the worst few seconds of my life. He had a pretty rough night last night, but he woke up this morning happy and almost back to his old self.

Snocross

Ryan, Trey, and I were able to go to a Snocross at Rio Tinto stadium last weekend. It was pretty cold but we managed to have a really good time. Most of my pictures did not turn out that well because, 1 the sleds were going too fast, 2 I was shivering, and 3 I was holding Trey as I was taking them (I am also waiting for my brother in-law Terry to buy me a new and improved camera!). The tricks and jumps by the Slednecks crew was by far my favorite. Ryan was able to get video of a back flip, it was awesome!

Warning this is going to be a long post with a lot of pictures.

First up is the Colemere family Christmas party which was held on Dec 19th. My family, my Aunt, and most of my cousins were able to get together yet again this year for dinner and a gift exchange for the kids. Trey got a 4 wheeler and informed me it was the "best 4-wheeler ever." Our family had a blast but we missed our cousins Beverly, Jessie, Angie, and Spencer, and also we missed Grandma! Wish you all could have been there!!

Also on that Saturday we stopped by my Grandma Minnie's house for a visit. I really don't get the opportunity to see her very often so it was a nice visit.

Next up was Christmas Eve with Ryan's Dad's family. We had dinner, visited with cousins, and opened lots of presents. As a family Ryan, Trey, and I ended the evening by opening a family gift of matching PJ's to wear to bed and putting out milk and cookies for Santa!

Christmas this year was really exciting for us. This is the first year that Trey really understood what Christmas is all about and he was so excited about everything. He even sat on Santa's lap this year and told him he wanted a Transformer, all the Toy Story Characters, and a Handy Manny doll and tool set. He was a little sad Christmas morning when he thought santa had forgotten his Handy Manny, but was happy when he found out that Grandma Marilee and Grandpa David had gotten it for him instead. Christmas day for us is a little hectic as we have so many places to visit and a long drive to get to those places. We started off by having breakfast at Ryan's Dad's. Luckily that is just right next door. Next we headed to Ryan's Mom's for some lunch, then we headed to my Dad's, and last we went to my Mom's for Dinner. Phew! It was a long day but it was a lot of fun! Thanks for all the great gifts everyone!!

We had a pretty low key New Years. On New Year's Eve we went to dinner and rented a couple movies and just stayed in that night as a family. Then on New Year's day we were pretty lazy most of the day just trying to relax. Ryan did take Trey on his first snowmobile ride of the season out in the field. Trey loved it of course and can't wait until his daddy takes him again.

Trey went pee in his potty yay!! As some of you know I have had a really hard time getting Trey interested in potty training. For a long time Ryan and I have tried to get him excited about "being a big boy", but he could usually care less. Finally this weekend he tried it and he has done it several times since. In fact first thing this morning he told me he needed to go potty and that he also wanted to take his little potty to Terri's house today. He still won't wear big boy underwear but hey one step at a time I guess.

First Christmas Party of the Season

We had our first Christmas party of the season last weekend with the McBride's and it was a great start to our holiday fun. Trey is shy and it usually takes him awhile to warm up, but not at this party, he was all over the place and having fun with everyone. This was the first year Trey has been old enough to play the present game we usually play, when it was his turn to snatch up a present he headed staright for the stuffed M&M dolls he knew exactly what he wanted and was so excited about it. During our main present exchange Trey got a spiderman on a 4-wheeler, which he loved, and it oocupied his attention the rest of the night. It was a great night a good eats and time with family.

More Halloween Fun

For Halloween this year our good friends Scott and Mandy invited us to their house for dinner and Trick or Treating. Mandy made some delicious sandwiches, pasta salad, and her famous homemade sugar cookies (YUUMMMY). After dinner we hit the streets for some good old fashioned Trick or Treating. This is the first year we have taken Trey and he loved it. Trey is super shy so we had to hold him the whole time (Ryan and I had to take turns). He was so excited to go to each door and kept telling us to hurry because we were not going fast enough. He was very good to say Trick or Treat when they answered the door and he always thanked them. After one neighborhood we started to hit another but Max and Trey had had enough and wanted to go home. Trey was a Utah State football player this year and though he really liked his costume he would not let me take a picture hence all the pictures of him screaming at me below "Little Stinker". I was able to get 1 picture of him smiling and that was only after I bribed him.

Handsome Hunters Year 2

Last year I took a picture of Ryan and Trey in their hunting gear. I liked it so much that I wanted to take another this year. I really had to bribe Trey to take the picture. This year Trey has been able to go hunting with Ryan several times. Although it has taken him a little while to understand that he has to be quiet while hunting he is now getting the hang of it and has become quite a good little hunting buddy for Ryan.

Catching Up!

Well I missed a bunch of posts for September so I guess it is time to play catch up. The first weekend in September was Labor Day weekend and for those of you who don't know, Wellsville (where I live) has a big celebration that weekend called "Founders Day." We started out the celebrating Friday night by attending the Founders Day Rodeo with Paul & Terri. It was pretty fun so we ended up going back again the next night with our friends Cort and Robin. Saturday afternoon we played in the couples golf tournament again with Cort and Robin (what good buddies). We had a lot of fun and hope to play again with them next year. Sunday we had a BBQ and played volleyball with Ryan's Mom's side of the family. I still got some mad volleyball skills! Monday morning I ran in the Founders Day 10k race with my friends Robin, Mindee, Kasia, & Tricia. After the race Paul treated me to breakfast on the square it was yummy. Following that I had to hurry home and clean up so we could head back to the square to watch the parade and enjoy the rest of the festivities. It was a fun packed weekend.

The next weekend on September 12th Paul, Brock, Ryan, and myself played in our 3rd annual Cache County school district golf tournament. Again we had lots of fun and I have to admit I had a couple good shots. I think I get better every time I play go figure! Every year for this tournament they have a drawing with some really good prizes, this year Ryan won a Dell laptop computer we were very happy about that.

I finished out September by running in the Hotter than Haiti 5k race on Saturday September 26th. I ran with a bunch of friends from Crossfit. I did this race last year as well because all profits go to an orphanage in Haiti so it's for a good cause. Our friends/neighbors Mandy and Kevin adopted two kids from this orphange and have been doing all that they can to help out ever since.

Fun at the farm

Last Friday we were able to go to Ryan's grandparents house and play on the farm for awhile. Trey and I got to pick out some pumpkins to take home. They are so pretty I think we will wait one more year before we show Trey how to carve them. We also got to pick a bunch of apples from the apple tree. We had enough that I decided I would attempt to make an apple pie with them. It was no Martha Stewart pie that's for sure but it was better then a kick in the pants. While at the farm Trey was brave enough to feed the horses apples. To all of our amazement he also sat on a couple of the horses. I guess we may need to buy him some cowboy boots after all! Before leaving Trey also got the chance to play on the tractors. I grew up in the "CITY" so I think I had just as much fun if not more than Trey while we were playing. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Great for a fun night!!

I know he is my son so I am kind of biased, but Trey has some serious natural athletic ability. He really loves all kinds of sports and learns how to play just by watching. The other night Trey was hitting his baseball off the tee and he all of a sudden decided he didn't want to hit off the tee anymore, he wanted Ryan to pitch to him. Ryan started pitching and Trey was just hitting one right after the other and really hard too. I was a very proud mom!

My First Half

This last Saturday I ran the Top Of Utah Half Marathon. It was my first half marathon and it was a lot of fun. I ran it with my good friend Robin. We worked really hard to train for the event and it paid off. My goal was to run it in 2 hours and 15 minutes and I ended up running it in 2 hours and 6 minutes. I had some great supporters for the race. Terri and Marlene were at the 10 mile marker with a sign, balloons, and of course a cow bell. Ryan and Trey were up early waiting for me at the finish line. A big thanks to my partner Robin, and of course all of my supporters (Ryan, Trey, Terri, & Marlene) I couldn't have done it with out you guys!!

My good friend Alicia is having triplets. Yes you heard right she is having 3 baby boys. We had a Shower for her a week ago Sunday. She got a lot of great gifts and it was fun to hang out with all the girls. Love you REESHA you are going to be a great mom!

First Time Bowling

This weekend we went to dinner and bowling with our friends Cort, Robin, and Cambree. It was Trey's first time bowling and he had a blast. Ryan and Trey were able to get a strike their very first time up to bowl, it was awesome. Me on the other hand really sucked it up and was the loser of the bunch. Oh well I still had a lot of fun! Cambree was not really interested in the bowling she just wanted to run all over the place it was really cute (her mom & dad probably didn't think so)!

Today Ryan and I are celebrating our 6 year anniversary. I am one of the luckiest women alive because I have such a fantastic husband. He is so hard working both at his job and at home, he is an awesome dad, and just an all around great person. Ryan and I decided to spoil Trey a little this year for his birthday! Ryan found this truck online and it is almost exactly like Ryan's real truck. They are both gray Ford F150's. Trey loved it of course and ended up never eating his ice cream and cake because he was having way too much fun. He got a lot of other great stuff too from Terri and Paul and his aunts and uncles (thanks everyone!) He is having another party this weekend with Ryan's Mom's family and with my family so I will post more later. Being the only grandkid on one side of the family sure has its perks!

Family Fun Weekend

Our fun packed summer continues and this weekend was no exception. Friday we headed to the cache valley fair where we got to see all of the farm animals and of course Trey's favorite, the motorcycles and snowmobiles. This year we also decided to go to the rodeo. This was Trey's first rodeo and though he thought the bucking broncos were pretty cool his favorite part was the intermission act where 2 guys dressed in sumo wrestler suits fought. Kids! Saturday we headed down to Centerville for Ryan's cousin's wedding. It was held at the Joy Luck Chinese restaurant. It was a very pretty wedding with lots of yummy food. Unfortunately none of my pictures turned out. Sunday we headed to the golf course for a family golfing trip. Trey golfed at every single hole and on several occasions he hit the ball better than me no joke! As usual it was a really fun weekend!

The Rest of July

We have had a July packed to the brim with fun so bare with me as this post will be long. I will first start with our trip to the Logan pool with our good friends Mandy, Sydney, & Max. Trey had a blast swimming with his 2 buddies and even went down the big slide for the first time (on my lap of course). He loved it so much we had to keep going down the slide until I accidentally dumped him in the water and then he was done!

Our good friends Scott & Mandy bought a beautiful new house so our next event was a fabulous house warming party for them. Alcia, Julie, & Jayci were able to come from SLC and it was a lot of fun hanging out sipping on Margaritas. Mandy's new house is absolutely beautiful I am so proud of how successful she has become.

Next up was the 24th of July. I was able to run the Pioneer day 10K race again this year. Unfortunately my sister in-law Natalie was unable run with me so my good friend Robin joined me. I was able to finish the race in 56 minutes which is a one minute improvement from last year yay! Thanks Robin for driving to SLC to run with me!

We finished out the 24th of July by having a family BBQ and a fireworks show. I absolutely love being with my family they are so fantastic and I miss them so much when they are not around. Even though Trey is shy and it takes him a minute to warm up to his cousins he really loves to play with them and talks about it for days after.

The next day Trey and I got up bright and early and went to the Grames family reunion with my Mom and Grandparents. Let it be known that for 2 years in a row now I have been the only one out of my siblings to go to the reunion and they wonder why I am the favorite! All of my grandpa's siblings were there and we don't get to see them very often so it was really nice. The reunion was held in East Carbon this year instead of Price so I was able to see the house my mom grew up in and I was able to go inside the house that used to be my great grandma's it was pretty cool.

Last but certainly not least we finished out July with a camping trip to Bear Lake for Raspberry days. I have found my most favorite spot to camp (Blue Water Resort). We had water hook ups, electic hook ups, sewer hook ups, and we were just a short walk away from the beach. To top it off the weather was fantastic not too hot and not too cold, and the water was a decent enough temperature that Trey actually swam in it. We got to Bear Lake Friday morning and hit the beach immediately, following that we had lunch and a much needed nap. Later that night Ryan's dad took us all out to eat at the new Cafe Sabor. For those of you who don't know Cafe Sabor is one of my most favorite restaurants in Logan and they now have one in Bear Lake how lucky am I. We finished up the night with a fantastic fresh raspberry shake. The next day Ryan, his brother, and his dad were in a golf tournament so Trey, Rev, and I hit the beach while they were gone, following that we had lunch and another much needed nap. I love naps!! That night we stayed at camp and grilled up some burgers and steaks and had fresh corn on the cob it was delicious. We ended the evening by watching the firework show over the lake it was very pretty. Oh and we had another shake (What can I say it's what Bear Lake is famous for)!

Camping up Left Hand

Last weekend we were finally able to go out for what we can now call our annual camping trip up Left Hand in Black Smith Fork Canyon. It's only about 20 minutes away from our house, because heaven forbid we actually go camping somewhere far away, but we still had a really great time. We had lots of fun hanging with friends, eating good food, and for Trey throwing lots of rocks into the creek.

We had a very eventful weekend. First on Friday was my company party at the Logan pool followed by the Logan city fireworks. Trey had a lot of fun swimming and actually paid attention to the fireworks this year. Then Saturday we headed up to Bear Lake. I thought Trey would be much better about swimming in the lake this year but he wasn't. He just doesn't like the cold water. Can't blame him though it was pretty cold. He did however love playing in the sand. They have a regular pool where we were staying so we decided to take Trey there and he had a lot more fun. Tim's Baptism

My nephew Tim got baptized this last weekend. Unfortunately for him he asked me to give a talk and I really mucked it up! Even though it was a small group of mostly my family I still got nervous and ended up reading most of my talk word for word from the paper. Whoops! I do appreciate that Tim thought of me and wanted me to give a talk so thank you Tim and I am super proud of your choice to get baptized love ya!

Providence 5K Run

This weekend I ran another 5k race with 3 of my friends. I was able to run this race in 29 minutes (not too bad of a time.) We finished off the evening by heading up to the Cooper Ranch to hang out around a camp fire. Thanks for the fun weekend Robin, Britt, & Tenaya.

Why its hard to exercise

So I wasn't quite done with my work out last night by the time Ryan had to leave to go clean. Trey was being really good (or so I thought) so I decided to finish anyway. When I finally got done this is what I found. The good news is he only wrote on his arms and not on his clothes or the walls ect. He was pretty proud of himself for his lovely art work!

Easter Weekend

We had a really great Easter weekend. It started on Thursday when my mom, sister, and 3 nephews came for a visit. We went to "Baby Animal Days" at the American West Heritage Center. We of course got to see all the baby animals, we got to see the Easter Bunny, and we got to try things like throwing a hatchett, using a bow & arrow, and eating worms (yes you heard me worms). We all had a great time including my 15 year old nephew Brendon (I think). Next we headed back to my house for a night of pizza, games, & movies. We also colored Easter eggs. This was the first time Trey has colored Easter eggs and he was so funny about it. He wanted to drink the dye and he kept saying he was coloring eggs in the drink! All the eggs turned out great I have some really artsy nephews.

On Friday Ryan competed in his last Hillclimb of the season at Beaver Mountain. Neither him nor Brock qualified at this race, but he said it was a really good hillclimb and everyone had fun. Also on Friday my company had an Easter Egg hunt for kids and employees. Trey went straight for all the eggs shaped like footballs and basketballs. I had to convince him to get other eggs once he had found all those. He was able to get a lot of candy and also a really cute stuffed bunny. I participated in the employee hunt and even though I was slow and only found 4 eggs I ended up getting $26 as 3 out of the 4 eggs I found contained money. I used my $26 to take my family to dinner that night at my favorite restaurant Cafe Sabor yummy!

Last but not least on Sunday the Easter Bunny visited our house and brought Trey a bunch of "Presents" for being a good boy. He also hid all of Trey's eggs, but don't worry Trey found them with no problems. Later that day we went to Paul and Terri's (Ryan's Dad and Step Mom) for lunch. Trey got to do another Easter egg hunt (by then he was getting really good at it). He also got to play with his cousins Brayke and Addison who he doesn't get to see very much. It was a lot of fun to get together and see everyone.
